A work in progress of The Hobbit, Chapter 6: Out of the Frying Pan into the Fire. The under-sketch for this digital painting was taken from my two-page drawing Lord of the Eagles. Once finished, I will upload the completed version.

Thanks Jori :) I'm hoping to see it finished too. Hopefully I can resolve the light issues.

love it of course, but the characters blend into the background a bit that when you first glance they are hard to see. Maybe a little more of a contrast in Colours.

Thank you Yessy! :) I was a bit nervous with the prospect of painting several figures climbing trees in twilight. The group camouflage so seamlessly. Moonlight distinguishes colour, therefore I would have to allow for more light between the branches if they are to be seen. Perhaps its a conundrum best solved by breaking the rules :). I'll shift from colour to grey-scale time to time to monitor my contrast.

Naw.True, but I thought it was a great thing that they all sort of blend in. That's kind of the point, right? I mean, they didn't exactly want the goblins and wargs to see them.
Plus it's this freaky thing like you have to look at it really close. Nicely done
